Young Learners (French)

Course No. HIFR001

Offer your child an initiation to one of the most beautiful languages at an early age.
The course has a syllabus that will be taught live and delivered by our French native-speaker teachers. All teaching techniques & material will be child friendly thereby approaching the learning process in a fun and interactive way.

Introduction:

  • Alphabet

Literacy:

  • Pronunciation and intonation.
  • Distinguishing the syllables of a spoken word.
  • Recognising the same syllable in several statements.

Speaking:

  • Immersion in the French oral language though nursery rhymes, basic sentences, daily greetings & manners.

Numerals:

  • Writing numbers up to 20.
  • Counting orally up to 30.

Notion of Time & Date:

  • The days of the week and the months of the year.

Activity:

  • colours.
A. JAYASINGHE

Ms Jayasinghe is a native French speaker, who is born, bred, and has schooled in France. Proficient in five languages including French & German, she is a skilled teacher whose students have been very successful at school level and also local and foreign Advanced Level exams. Her well-planned lessons, friendly nature and Parisian accent, attract many students who wish to obtain a grasp of the French language. In addition, her German language proficiency offers a strong foundation for those who wish to learn the language.

D. ROUSSEAU

Ms Rousseau is a French Parisian. She has been a teacher all her life, teaching from nursery to high school. She is also a painter who has studied at the internationally prestigious Art School in France – Beaux-Arts de Paris. She is now living in Sri Lanka and is in the process of discovering Sri Lankan culture and trying to share her language and her love for the beautiful French culture with the Sri Lankans.
