With this short course you will be offered a first-hand experience to market leading CAD software suites which are widely used in mechanical design and manufacturing industries.
You will be able to gain knowledge on the engineering theories lying behind 2D drawing drafting & 3D modeling of mechanical assemblies. Upon completion of this short course, you will gain skill sets to start creating your first conceptual CAD models or develop your knowledge to enhance your practical understanding and principles required for a potential career prospect in the engineering design field.
For the purpose of delivering the course efficiently, you will be requested by the Tutor to specify your level of CAD proficiency & to choose between AutoCAD, Solidworks or CREO/PTC software, which will then be used as the baseline CAD tool during the course.
The following areas are covered in this programme:
- Introduction to CAD tools and applications.
- Explanation of real time mechanical problems and solutions.
- Initiation to each tool commands with examples.
- Explanation of each module includes 2D drawing with BoM (Bill of Materials), sheet metal and surface modeling and part & assembly modeling.
- Providing practical drawings to generate the 3D mechanical assembly models.
- Application and limitation of CAD tools
Eligibility
- Individuals with a serious attitude towards learning
- A person wishing to build ones career as an engineer (in any specialisation)
- It is preferred that the student should have a scientific background and a basic English proficiency- but not compulsory.
