English Literature – for University examination

This course will cover all genres of literary works, be they British/American or Post-colonial, prescribed for the relevant English Literature University degree.

With each class sessions you will complete the module outlines prepared for English literature teaching for the relevant semester. This could include English Poetry, Short stories, Novels and Dramas.

This course will cover all genres of literary works, be they British/American or Post-colonial, prescribed for the relevant degree. For each work taught, initially, the biography of the author, the social, economic and political context when the literary text was written and published will be discussed. Then, there will be interactive discussions using videos, which require a personal response (debate on literary work using the opinion of different critics). Finally, the stylistic approach which includes the understanding of the vocabulary, symbols, themes and their relevance to the literary work will be explained.
